Search tips

The Ask a Specialist search covers only the Ask a Specialist section of our site. To search the entire site, use the search box at the top of every page. To search for drug or supplement information, use our Drug & Supplement search.

To search for answers, type one or more words in the Ask a Specialist search box, separating words with a space. Then click "GO" or press Enter.

For best results when searching, follow these tips:

  • Make sure your search terms are spelled correctly. A search using misspelled words may return zero results.
  • Use multiple words to focus your search. Searching on a phrase will often return more relevant results. For example, if you want information on breast cancer, search on the phrase "breast cancer" rather than the more general "cancer."
  • Insert "and" between words. If you search on a phrase and get zero results, try inserting "and" between words. This will return articles that include both words, even if they don't occur together as a phrase. For example, instead of "broken arm," search on "broken and arm."

If you can't find an answer to your question in the Ask a Specialist section, use our general site search. If you still can't find what you're looking for, you may submit a question to one of our specialists by following the link below.
