When to seek medical advice

By Mayo Clinic staff

Mild cases of anhidrosis tend to go unnoticed. But don't wait for an emergency to seek treatment. If you barely sweat, even when it's hot or you're working or exercising strenuously, talk to your doctor.

Heatstroke, a condition that occurs when your body can't effectively cool itself and your core temperature reaches 104 F (40 C) or higher, is life-threatening. Only immediate medical care can help prevent brain damage, organ failure or death.
