Low vision aids

Your visual acuity deteriorates as you age. Aging also makes you more likely to develop a vision-impairing condition, such as presbyopia, macular degeneration or cataracts.

You can cope by using some tools, such as magnifying glasses, that compensate for diminished vision. These tools, or low-vision aids, can help you maintain your independence. Ask your doctor or occupational therapist about other low-vision aids that might work for you.
