Fibrocystic breast changes usually affect women during their reproductive years. Changes to breast tissue can include the development of breast cysts, fibrous tissue (fibrosis), enlarged lobules (adenosis) and cell overgrowth in the lining of lobules and ducts (hyperplasia).
