Lung cancer surgery

Illustration of lung cancer surgery

Your lungs consist of five lobes — three lobes in the right lung and two lobes in the left lung. Surgery for lung cancer may include a lobectomy to remove a lobe from a lung. After surgery you may feel short of breath. With time, the remaining lung tissue will expand to relieve some of your shortness of breath.
