Erupting wisdom tooth

Illustration showing an erupting wisdom tooth

Wisdom teeth are the last of your teeth to come in, or erupt, through the gums. They normally emerge between ages 17 and 25. Sometimes wisdom teeth become impacted, or stuck below the surface of your gums, and grow at odd angles, possibly causing complications.
