Holter monitor

Illustration showing a man wearing a Holter monitor

A Holter monitor (A) uses electrodes and a recording device to track your heart's rhythm for 24 to 72 hours. Your doctor can print an electrocardiogram strip (B) using the data on the recording device to see your heart's rhythm during the period you wore the monitor.
