Get StartedTaking anti-nausea drugs along with migraine medicine
By Mayo Clinic staffIf you experience nausea or vomiting with your migraine attacks, talk to your doctor about taking an anti-nausea medicine along with your headache medicine. Some examples include:
- Chlorpromazine (Thorazine)
- Hydroxyzine (Vistaril)
- Metoclopramide (Reglan, others)
- Prochlorperazine
These drugs can alleviate nausea, but may make you drowsy. If you're having trouble taking oral medications because of nausea or vomiting, your doctor may prescribe a drug in the form of a nasal spray, injection or suppository.
